Plus One Collective [update]
After a coffee sped afternoon and in depth collaborative masterminding, Ben and myself had decided on a new show. The new show is going to be based on going back to the streets and looking at some of the pioneering styles of artwork back in the 1980's. Our discussion was about the awesome styles of Graph' and stencil work on the streets of New York and some of the emerging work from England, also.
However, how we're looking at it is not all about American and English art work. It's to do with Australian art coming from the streets with flair and style.
Australia is a young country and 'apparently' is still trying to find its 'style'. However, I believe that Australian artists all have a distinct style and is completely different from their American and English-Euro peers.
This show will be pulling together some of Tasmania's coolest and up-coming artists to the stage. Artists from around Australia are more than welcome, but it's a show to show off our real Down-Under talent. We'll be pulling some teeth on getting some local sponsorship; which means some advertising for our local companies, which is good for them to get involved with.
At the moment, i'm looking at trying to get a whole roll of left-over or 'used' power cables and power poles. And looking to the community and other organisations that can fund or supply shoes for the exhibition.
The Exhibit will [hopefully] consist of the following contributors:
2 + DJ's to have some material ready for a battle / show tunes
1 VJ for some awesome visuals
12 Artists to display some cool 'stuff'
The Art can come from any base and background:
Photography;
Painting;
Design;
Crafts;
Fashion;
Film;
Sound... Anything. All ideas are up and we've got three months to start getting this going. Anyone have and Suggestions, please let me know and email me @ LPDAW.Design@gmail.com
Regards,
- LORE
I've some imagery here to show you some of the cooler English/American street styles I was talking about.
