When I found out that they were playing I actually bit my tongue from sheer excitement. Although, when I looked online to see if there were any tickets available I soon came to understand that there were no tickets that i could get my hands on. This annoyed me. However, i was determined to see the six piece band from Cleveland, Ohio, in the States. So i decided to try my hardest to obtain a ticket when i got to the place in Vancouver and try my luck.
After a 15 hour plane ride, walking around all day from a coffee fueled rush, i became tired and snoozed. Then i woke up around 6:45 pm, knowing that the doors opened at 7 pm. I sat and thought for a moment, realising how tired i was i was leaning toward staying in bed and not going to see the best band ever. The last statement in that sentence got me up and i walked to the venue.
Standing outside were people, naturally. There were bums trying to sell tickets for crack and other wierd people trying to talk to me. I ignored them like and Indian hawker and proceeded to the stand where devil-champion-like bouncers were guarding the doors and showed them the poorest excuse for identification (I didn't bring my passport, Idiot!); and in a nervous, anxious, apathetic attempt to begin my explanation and prepared to run back and get my id, the bouncer didn't give a shit and said to show my ticket. Here is where i asked if i could buy one at the door. A comforting 'Yes' and a gesture to a ticket-box, i was on my way to see the Dark Gods of Heavy metal!
Upon entry, i was immediately impressed by the variety of tattoos and band-fan t-shirts and male mains. Then the actual venue was something rather petit but grand at the same time. Perfect for heavy, heavy metal. Being by myself i looked like a dork drinking my beer by myself, so i proceeded to talk to random people. This is where i met Jorgen. Jorgen is a music lover from Sweden. He's cool and we're going to consume some beer tomorrow! anyway! I'm going to finish this post off with the photos from the night. I Jizzed in a heavy metal way!
